A new temp, a glass office, a jealous PA

The camera sits in the boss's seat as his first-person view; he never gets a name, and Harriet calls him sir. Harriet Seagrave starts as a temp inside a glass-walled open-plan London office, anxious and quick to run herself down. In her inner voiceover everybody around her is more impressive, her gorgeous boss most of all, and she assumes he will never look her way.

His blonde PA gets inner voiceover too, and she likes being the one he cannot do without. Harriet threatens that arrangement, which sets up a slow burn tangled with jealousy and played mostly for laughs. Candy tags the series Taboo, yet the free half plays like clumsy office flirting.

Episode 1: The grand tour

Sitting on a desk, the PA passes him papers, moves a meeting and reminds him how lost he would be without her. Harriet panics in voiceover that everyone is attractive and that her boss would never notice her. When the PA tries to pencil in a Thursday dinner, he interrupts to ask who the new face is.

Tongue-tied, Harriet says she admires him, swaps in the company, and he says he liked her first answer better. The PA offers to handle onboarding and recites his meetings, but he waves off his calendar and leads Harriet away, promising I'll show you where the bodies are kept.

Episode 2: A hoodie, a swear word

The PA sees him steer Harriet into a stockroom and assures herself he would never pick a temp. Inside, between boxes, he hands over company shirts and sweatshirts used at conferences and charity days, then waits outside while she tries them on. Colleagues snicker over how drawn-out her induction seems.

Harriet emerges in a white zip hoodie, asks for black, swears at her boss while explaining that cameras and white add weight, and wails I've just swore at my boss on my first day. He says it suits her, and asked whether he means the hoodie or the swearing, he says both.

What happens after episode 2?

Two threads carry forward: he is increasingly drawn to Harriet, and his PA is increasingly jealous, which Candy's synopsis says turns into an attempt to wreck the pairing. Paid artwork pictures a blue lace bra on Harriet among the stockroom shelves, a drenched shirt as a man touches her, and a close-up hinting at a sexual encounter. Read together, the flirting evidently turns physical.
